he liked it. he put a ring on it.

WE’RE ENGAGED! Happy doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel. I didn’t even know it was possible to be THIS happy. It has been an amazing week, I don’t even know where I should begin to tell you about it. Let’s start with the proposal, shall we?
not our best picture....

My dear friend, Jess asked for my help with finding an outfit and doing her hair for a party she had on Friday night. If you know me at all you know that helping someone with this gives me purpose in life. I brought over some outfit choices and we drank coffee, picked out a cute outfit and made the perfect sock bun on top of her head.

When I got home RC ask me to come up to the roof top and there he was with a box.. a necklace  box. The necklace was of what my future monogram will be when I become Mrs. RC! I still didn’t understand what was going on, I thought he was just doing something nice. Little did I know he was about to get nicer! He started saying wonderful things (well I think they were, I can’t remember what he said!) and next thing I know he was down on one knee with the prettiest ring in the world.
tucker was so excited, obviously.

I said yes. I cried. Drank champagne, made a ton of phone calls and sent even more text messages. RC has made dinner reservations at our favorite restaurant, Woodberry Kitchen for 8:45. I rushed to get ready and he shuffled me out the door. Once we got to the restaurant we were asked to go outside to wait for our table, once we got there some of my favorite people in the world were there. Jenny, Brian, Melissa, Alex and Jess with the sock bun ready for her “party”. I cried some more. Seriously, “happy” seems too insignificant and trivial when trying to describe how I felt. The fact that these people spent their Friday nights with us and were so genuinely happy for us was the best feeling in the world.  Funny thing is, I called all of them to tell them the good news and Jenny told me she was in Pittsburg (like she was supposed to be) and Melissa told me she was home in NY at work and Jess told me she was just finishing getting ready for her friend’s birthday party! I had absolutely no idea they would all be around to celebrate.

Everybody always wants to know these two things- 1. Did you know? The answer is this, no. I had no idea that he would propose on Friday July 27th while I was sticky from spray tan, had messy greasy hair and wearing a sweaty dress. Of course we talked about getting married but I had no idea he had a ring. I had a manicure and a fake tan thanks to Jenny’s great planning and scheming but if I had known he was going to propose then I would have washed my hair that morning, worn a better outfit and charged my phone. can't win em all!
the cutest thing ever!
Second question is.. When’s the wedding? It’s going to be next fall! Still planning and hoping to set a date soon! We really just want a casual, small-ish wedding with alcohol and dancing... basically an upscale keg party where I wear a pretty white dress and our friends and family have the best time.

Engaged life is great, it’s pretty much the same. After our wonderful dinner last Friday we went to PortSide like usual, we drank too much, I spilt my drink on my dress like usual and we woke up with pounding headaches (like usual) but somehow this time with a diamond on my hand it didn’t seem so bad!
