a new paint job

We’ve made an update to the house that I wanted to share. ummm.. we didn’t actually do it, we hired someone to do it. Last weekend we had someone come by and paint/stain/seal our decks.  Personally, I didn’t know that you HAD to do that but apparently it’s strongly encouraged. I would have rather spent that money on 1 million other things- curtains, wall décor, pillows, a new fall bag, etc. RC won this one but it’s not the end!
Here is the deck before.. all wood and all natural..

And here it is during..
That's our guy, Roger.
And here it is now..

monkey butt

I know, it’s not a HUGE difference and quite frankly it's really hard to tell in these pictures but it’s now stained, sealed and delivered and we can all finally sleep at night.

that's what i love about sundays..

It’s the perfect Sunday morning. Brisk breeze through the house, Starbucks latte in hand, computer on my lap, 85lb dog snuggled up against me, no wedding/bachelorette hang over in sight, RC still in bed nursing a hangover from a GNO (guys night out) and I have about 2 hours until the never ending football coverage begins. Hallelujah! I’ve been daydreaming about this Sunday for a while.
I've recently started drinking Pumpkin Spice Lattes and I love them! Here's the big secret that nobody tells you- IT DOESNT TASTE LIKE PUMPKIN!
Figured it was time I talk about our wedding! With all of the weddings we’ve been attending it’s been hard to really get excited or concentrate on ours… never mind start planning. We did set a date- September 21, 2013 in Charleston, SC! It took a little time and research to decide on Charleston and it wasn’t easy but we’re so excited about it. When RC and I talk about what we want our wedding to be like the one thing we always say is that we want people to have fun.  Then when I think about our wedding, What I want is that people to want to be there. I know that sounds weird but I don’t want anyone to feel obligated to travel, to send a gift, to be there, etc. Beyond that- I don’t want to be that girl who talks about her wedding incisively and forgets how to be a normal person/friend during the planning process. I'll probably write about it a lot (sorry!).. a girls got to vent! Is that all too much to ask?!
So come along with me on my thought process.. My thought was that if our wedding was in Baltimore it would give me even more of a reason/excuse to obsess over it. My hope is that if we have our wedding in a different city it would help keep me removed enough to enjoy the process and to always remember what the wedding is all about. Ya know- that whole love and being with someone for the rest of your life thing. We’ve all heard of weddings that turn into a circus/parade/drama-fest and that is the last thing we want. RC and I would be happy getting married in a courthouse but we also want to celebrate with our families and friends and enjoy this huge milestone in life. And if I’m being honest, I really want a pretty dress.

As for the venue, we chose the Carriage House at Magnolia Gardens and Plantation! Here are a few pics I took while I was there:
Ashley River and big oak tree on the left top, top right is the inside of the Carriage house and bottom is the outside

this is the carriage house!

Ashely River and huge lawn area!

big Ol' Oak tree with some Spanish Moss where the ceremony will be!

Patio with fire pit!

I love Charleston and really think that it will help with the laid back feel we want for our wedding. So do you WANT to come to our wedding?
the monkey just wants in invite..

keeping up with E

I can’t believe it’s October 9th. How did that happen? Why didn’t anyone tell me to slow down and take a breather in August and September? It was so much fun though, I was in a many different cities and got to see so many of my friends that I normally don't get to see. All wins in my book! My next available weekend is in December. So if you want to see me, or do something contact me. My weekends are filling up!
What have I been doing you ask? A couple of trips to NY to see the family, a couple of bridal showers, a few bachelorette parties, a wedding here and there and trying to sleep on the off days (which were none). In the last two months of craziness I haven’t made one change to the house. Not. A.one. We did set a wedding date though! That’s about as productive in my own life as I’ve been.  It’s probably easier to show you what I’ve been up to in pictures since you last saw me..

Michelle's Bridal shower in CT. (technically not in August)

Patty's Shower in DC!

Unexpected trip home to visit the brother- he is doing okay now! How ridic is this picture? (had to share it )

Michelle's Bachelorette Party in BALTIMORE!

Another trip home to see my family for Labor day!

Told you I’ve been very busy! I’m doing all of this traveling and RC and Tuck are doing this..

Typical. Like I said, I’ve been having a ton of fun. I haven’t had a weekend in Baltimore with nothing to do since BEFORE we got engaged. Isn’t that crazy? And in the next 4 weeks we have 3 weddings each and my mom and sister are coming to do some dress shopping for our wedding! More details on our wedding to come! PROMISE. xo
