it's a marathon

I haven’t been able to sleep recently so good news is that you have another post. Bad news is that I’m cranky.  Sorry- You win, you lose some. We’re coming down the home stretch and that could be the reason I can’t sleep but I can see the finish line and it’s going to be worth it! Last week they crossed a few things off of our list! They’re starting to cross the Ts and dot the Is and it’s giving me that warm feeling in my tummy that I love.
1.       Drywall
2.       Decks
3.       Paint
4.       Trim work
5.       Lights installed
6.       Flooring in bathrooms
7.       Flooring on first/second floor- Thursday 4/12
8.       Basement flooring
9.       Bedroom doors hung
10.   Kitchen cabinets
11.   Bathroom cabinets- Thursday 4/4
12.   Granite Countertop in kitchen- TODAY! Monday 4/9
13.   Plumbing fixtures installed- toilet, sinks, shower heads- Friday 4/5
14.   Closet shelving/bathroom mirrors hung- Friday 4/5
15.   Security system installed
16.   Appliances installed- next week
17.   Backsplash
18.   Cornice
19.   Touch up paint
(PS- who was going to tell me I had all of the dates wrong last week? Anyone??????)
I’ve added three other things to the list that still need to be done, numbers 17-19. I’m sure there are a ton of other things that I don’t know that have to be done but these are the big ones that stick out to little ol’ me. Granite will be done TOMORROW! The closet shelves were put in last week, door handles were put on, bathroom vanities were “set”, bathroom mirrors hung, plumbing fixtures put in place, shower doors installed and lastly, the furnace and water heater joined the team! Wanna see?!

This is the beginnings of a beautiful Cornice..

And this is the beginnings of what the hardwood floors will look like. It’s dark but I think it’s going to look super nice with the light walls and cabinets! What is going on here is that they’re staining the oak stairs to match our hardwood floors.. don’t worry they’ll clean the mess up!

So that’s it! It’s starting to look like a real house.. like somewhere where someone can actually live. I can’t wait to run by during lunch and check out the granite. BTW- it’s RC’s birthday on Monday 4/9. He pretends like he hates his birthday but he secretly loves the attention.. so, wish him a happy one!

    OMG everything is looking gorgeous!!!

Please please tell RC - Happy Belated B-day from his favorite cousin ever. AND please tell him that I love him very very much and that I am super proud of him (and you, too btw!!!) The house is awesome and I do hope I make it on the A list for the housewarming party!!! Girl, my appliances are all black and only one(overhead micro) is black/stainless and I really really love the black - it always looks great. BUT I have serious trouble making the stainless look and stay clean. I am extremely OCD. I windex the hell of it and use lysol disinfecting wipes, but it never looks or stays fab!!! It makes me crazy. I hope your stainless - wipes and looks clean. OXOXOXOXOO PS: Can't wait to meet you!!!
