true life

True Life: I live with someone who thinks they’re P Diddy. I don’t remember seeing this episode in the True Life series but if they’re thinking about casting I have a good candidate.
This is the point in the process where we are starting to choose all of the tile, toilets, fixtures, lights, etc. for the house. The budget for all of these items was pre-determined when we started this project back in September. Disclaimer: I would be a hypocrite if I said I was one to stick to a budget. It’s really not a B word that I’m familiar with or like to associate myself with. BBBBBBuuut, I’m also a realist and don’t think we need LED lights in our fridge, a TV screen on the freezer door, a $700 microwave or gold plated door handles. I’m not saying RC asked for any or all of these but sometimes I think he believes those were all accounted for in our budget. The story goes like this, we ended up saving money on our granite countertop and not using the entire amount we allotted for so what did we do? we spent it. 5 times over. We keep justifying the upgrades we want with this saying “oh, it will come out of the money we saved on the granite”. I swear, if I had a dollar for every time we said that we would have a TV on our freezer.  Have you ever seen this series of commercials? I think they are HIL-AR-IOUS and reminds me of my life right now:

Haha, love it. I think the reason I find them so funny is because I can relate to them SO MUCH. Not because I’m saving so much money on my phone bill.. just in general. The interesting thing is that I actually couldn’t even remember what these commercials were for! Good thing google has never let me down. What about you? Are you constantly being hit by the “I’m Feeling Richer Effect”? It usually only happens to me.. every two weeks.. on a Friday.. when I get paid.
