Many people have asked if we are doing all of this work ourselves- the answer is, HELL to the NO. RC and I could handle some elementary renovating projects ourselves but this job calls for a professional and not just any professional but someone with experience in Baltimore City and with rehab loans (more on this later). Joe has completed countless projects in Baltimore and I’ve actually heard about him way before I was thinking about buying a home. You see, Joe puts these great signs on all of the houses he is working on so when you’re just driving/walking/stumbling by you see them.

Like I previously mentioned, RC and I spent a few afternoons driving around the city just looking for SALE signs. We noticed a handful of Joe’s houses and finally found an open house. After just a few minutes of talking, Joe mentioned this one house he just bought that he thought could work for us. He was right! He understood exactly what we were looking for, kept our budget in mind and explained the different ways we can save money, get more bang for our buck, etc.
Joe is a Baltimore native and has a genuine love for this city. He is making this city better one row home at a time by taking otherwise rundown houses and turning them into beautiful homes and improving the neighborhoods around them. When you meet Joe you would have no idea this is the guy behind all of those white signs and renovations. I expected him to be wearing a tailored suit and leather shoes and to try to sell us on a home that was way out of our budget. NOT THE CASE. When we met Joe he was sitting at an open house for one of his properties (doesn’t he have people to do this?!) and he was wearing construction boots and a tee shirt. He was extremely welcoming, warm and I couldn’t help but notice the love he has for his work. Joe said something that has still stuck with me “I want to build you a home” Something about the way he said it made us REALLY believe him. We are so excited to start working with him and get this project underway. Below are some pictures of recently finished homes (all pictures courtesy of http://www.schultzdevelopment.com/).
